I'm here!!

Well, I'm haven't been doing a very good job at keeping you updated about our travels and arrival in the US, but we are here (if you want a detailed account of our trip across the world, go here)!!!! We are happily enjoying fresh summer fruit, going to bed while it is still light (it gets dark in Indo at 6:30pm year-round), dealing with some reverse culture shock, and crazily trying to get packed up for a road trip across the country. We are also having fun catching up with great friends and family.

I'm hoping to meet up with several bloggers along my journey. I already had the privilege to meet one wonderful blogger, and I will tell you all about it when I get my own computer back (it's in the shop) and can upload pictures of our time together!

How is your summer?!

I'll be back soon!
Blessings,

Glad you made it to the states. Enjoy your summer and I'll be praying for the reverse cultural shock. I know it can be tough.

Joy! We were just at the headquarters in early June, had a wonderful tour, took pictures of our family in front of a plane, and saw your picture on the wall! (My parents live nearby, and we stay with them whenever we visit. Wish we were there now to hug your necks!) My boy, Corban, thinks he and Britton would be best buds. :)

We hope and pray your time is restful and exciting and joyful and fulfilling!

Love to you!

Ah Joy! I'm "jealous"! I wish I was one of the bloggers you were meeting! :) But so fun to make those connections in real time. Praying for your time in the US, that God will use you to greatly challenge and encourage others...and that you yourselves will be likewise blessed!
Hugs,
Shilo

I noticed from you June newsletter that you will be in Tennesee. Are you planning to come to Florida? Just wondering if you'll be close enough to come hear speak and meet your lovely family.
God bless and have a wonderful time state-side!!
Love, Pamela

I bumped in to Dave at the post office this week. Pretty weird seeing him "in the flesh" after so many photos (the Forneys are possibly entering "celebrity status"?).

Anyway, if it works in your schedule when you return from your road trip, I'd love to have you and your kids over for a play date.

I've really enjoyed your guest posts - but good to know you're safely on the ground! The light nights are SO wonderful aren't they?

I came across your site yesterday and I'm hooked. I can relate to your experiences because I am also a sahmissionary of 5 (Eastern Europe). I can also relate to the reverse culture shock. The first thing we noticed when we landed in the US were the HUGE cars. Then, you sort of have a meltdown in the ketchup aisle at the Walmart. Good times!

Can't wait to get to know you!

Kind Regards,
Carrie

Hi Joy! So glad to hear that you've all made it safely to the States!

I checked out your visiting schedule and saw that you will be spending a lot of time in PA. That's where I'm from. I'm in Western PA. Where in PA are you going to be?

Looking forward to hearing all about your furlough! I love your blog!
