Day 5 Skirts and Dresses and a Welcome Home!

My wonderful husband is home, safe and sound! Here we are the morning he left 10 days ago (notice that he just has a five o' clock shadow). And here we are right after his return, our dad and husband, the jungle adventurer (now with a full beard)!

Ahhh! So happy...and scratchy.

And, here's Hannah and I on day 5 of our challenge. Britton has been taking pictures for us up until now, but today Dave took over.

I did Hannah's hair in a side twisty bun, and obviously mine is down. Hannah's grandma made the dress she's wearing today, along with several of the other days' dresses.

Shirt- Shade Clothing
Jacket and Shoes- Indonesia
Skirt- Old Navy
Bag- Vera Bradley
Necklace- Target
My amazing hubby and his good friend, Paul, had quite the adventure in the jungle. I've been enjoying listening to his stories and seeing pictures and videos of their trip (and we've been busy scrubbing all of his dirty clothes and gear). I have so much respect for my husband!

Keep checking over at Dave's blog for all the exciting stories!

Thanks again to Kristin and Miss Jocelyn for this fun challenge!
And, there's another new post below this one, with lots of fun links for you!

Great to read your blog. Found you via Coffee Girl. We are missionaries in Japan. So blessed by your video intro, giving all glory to God. Which He will bless.

Cute dresses. You do amazing things with hair! Wow! I wish you could tech me. My daughter has got great long hair to play with. Mine is too thin and too little to do much with.

Do you sew? Most of the dresses and skirts and skorts for little girls are based on a very simple design that you don't even need a pattern to make. I draw my patterns on newspaper and alter them around for different fun designs.

A good way to start off, if you are nervous about sewing, is to get some non-expensive material, even old sheets, and play with it. I really do not like following directions on patterns or complicated things, but enjoy "creating" new designs for simple skirts or jumpers. Recently, because it is cold here, I sewed my daughter a long sleeved dress made out of polar fleece. She loved that one - nice and warm and soft!
